Naturopathic Doctor
Celiac Disease Expert

Dr. Doherty was drawn to Naturopathic Medicine over 15 years ago because of her own chronic health issues. She had seen physicians of all different specialties since childhood and no one could explain her chronic symptoms that included rashes, IBS, anemia, bone pain, frequent infections and bruising. When she discovered Naturopathic Medicine’s blending of current clinical sciences with a natural approach to treatment she immediately switched gears from a fine arts background to pre-med and has never looked back.

After being in practice for five years she discovered the source of her chronic illness was in fact gluten and she became a crusader from increasing the understanding of celiac disease and gluten intolerance in both the lay and medical communities. She graduated with her Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine in 1998 from Bastyr University in Seattle, Wash. She also has a bachelor of science in human sciences from Bastyr and a bachelor of fine arts from Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec.
